Charlotte and I are teaching a class together at French General in January. It's part of Kaari's weekend celebrating crafting. Sign up here and you can see all the other great classes, maybe you want to buy a day or weekend pass? But hurry if you do, because classes sell out at 30 participants. {Have you been to French General? It's so charming! Here are some photos that Amy took when we were there together recently.}
Anyway, I love these hearts that could be drawer sachets, pin cushions, couch pillows, gifts, anything. They are so fun to make with so many options...if you hate to sew, Kaari even has some pre-stitched velvet hearts at the shop that you could embellish instead, like I did with this one here:
Or, if you love to stitch, you could go a little crazy like I did with this one that I made for Kaari:
The back is a different style that you could choose to make instead, more crazy quilt. This was made with remnants of Kaari's French General fabric line:
Anything goes, from simple to elaborate when making these lovelies...and just in time for Valentine's Day too. When Charlotte and I were making our samples, I ran across these stunning beauties from WWI. So inspiring!
I found this heart I made long ago for my daughter when she was a baby. I hung it on her bedroom door for many years:
The close up photos are my favorite...
I could take the same photo over and over (as you see I have), because I love every little bit, flaws and all. This one was inspired by the World War I hearts made for loved ones. It was a gift for my husband (ok, myself) in celebration of our 20th anniversary.
Well, that's more than enough heart photos, you get the idea...I'll bring all these hearts to French General so you can see them in person. Hope you'll be joining us!

Pam, these are stunning. So inspiring. I wish I was closer to you guys and French General so I could attend the classes. Happy Holidays

Gorgeous! I always love the combo of embroidery with beads, ribbons, etc. The texture is so wonderful.

So beautiful, Pam! I have always loved the romance of the Sailor's Valentines. I have never stitched with beads as you have here, and it intimidates me A LOT. Very inspiring~

Hi Sharon,
This heart was a sample for a class that I taught at French General (in Los Angeles) with Charlotte Lyons. There are no kits or instructions, however, I'll be teaching something similar which could be altered to be similar at Spellbound November of 2012 in Pasadena.
