Once again, an Anthropologie display has inspired a flurry of creating over here.
After Amy told me about this garland in the store, I instantly wanted to make one myself. Of course, with a different slant, but still, gotta give credit for the inspiration where it is due.
Here is a bad photo taken while in the store and still another below. My own take uses a more traditional Christmas holiday leaf, and switched up the color scheme, but the general concept is the same.
Thank you again Anthropologie display creators, I love seeing what you come up with!
Here are more shots of my version:
Nothing like hand made decorations for the holidays in my book!
{Ed: I used any felt (and combination of felt/wool that was white/creamy white and in my fabric stash. I made one leaf for a pattern, and then cut them all out by hand. It's not a speedy project ;). Then I used a hole punch to punch the circle to string them through. The balls were just felt scraps that I sewed together in a somewhat round shape, very much imperfect, then sewed on by hand. }

Fun and Festive! :-)

Pam, as always, you inspire me! LOVE the garlands. Last year you posted that you had a friend who was having a difficult time and you made her a sort of advent calendar with little gifts in envelopes for the month of December. At the same time, my sister was going through a difficult divorce after 30 years and I borrowed your idea for her. It made such an impact on her that this Christmas she made one for her youngest daughter who's struggling after finding out her father is getting remarried. (The divorce was final on 9/15/2010). Just thought you'd want to know how your sharing of this wonderful idea has impacted (at least!) three other people. Thanks so much. Merry Christmas!!

Adorable. Anthropologie store displays are the best, they never fail to inspire me to go home and make something too!

Pam: have been so enjoying your posts over the past few months. I have been a devotee of embroidery since I was small and you have made me think of it again as an art form and something to "gift" myself, an extravagance, if you will. Thanks for that...a lovely gift.

Beautimus! I was so intrigued by your sequined felt pieces in Amy's Inspired Ideas book that I worked on it during a recent visit to Florida. Friends thought I was nuts for working with wool felt by the pool but I thought it was a joy! Thanks for spreading the joy Pam! Your creations are always marvelous and inspiring:) (Even an Anthropologie version via Pam style is best!)
