Please permit a non crafting post by a proud mom. I'm so excited for my son and his Pee Wee Pop Warner football team. I'm told that 1,500 teams in their division began the season, and our team is one of the 8 remaining that will play in Florida next week for the National Championships!!! If you have a son that plays Pop Warner, then you probably have heard coaches say for years, as we have, "let's make it to Florida!"...and I'm sure many of you have gone, but this is a first for our family. Our team has worked so very hard all season...and are still at it. Here's hoping they take the title next week!!! Will any of you be there with your sons? Hopefully, our boys are not playing each other!
You may have already seen his team if you watch NFL football. During half-time, Toyota has been doing a Tiny Football League segment and they are one of the teams that were featured. Here are some shots of them filming their commercial this summer. It was a fun day for the boys, and a very special football year for my little guy.
And just because I'm his mama, a couple of my baby. If you look closely at the second one, you can see that he still has a little bit remaining of those hand dimples children have. But at age 11, not for long. My kids are getting too old! (What does that say about me? haha- don't answer that!!!)
Well, I won't be there to see it live, too expensive and my daughter has school, so I'll be excited to get the reports and will let you know if they make it to the last playoff game! Here's hoping!!!
Go Red Titans!!!

How exciting! We did the band trips, not the sports thing but they were in an award winning band, In fact their old band marched in Macy's parade this year and the inauguration 2 years ago..How wonderful these experiences are for the kids. Good luck!
Take loads of pics....We never took enough.

Congratulations! Our youngest son (who is now 17) played at the Pop Warner Superbowl in Orlando four years ago - what a great experience for these boys! Your son will have a blast and have so many stories to tell you!! Go Red Titans!!

This has nothing to do with this particular post but I feel compelled to comment anyway.
I'm so glad I stumbled upon your blog. I'm about to turn 34 and I feel this huge surge of creativity. My family has always told me that I was creative and artistic but I've never really felt like I've been able to tap into my true creative self (if that makes any sense). Looking at your art and handiwork reminds me of things that I love and would love to do. It's like when someone else perfectly articulates something you feel but don't have the words to express yourself. You hear them and your think, "That's it! That's exactly what I was trying to say."
So I'm going to stop myself before I sound any more like a pot-smoking hippy. Just love your art!
By the way...what inspires you?

Pam -
My son plays for the Yorba Linda Bulldogs and they are in Florida this week too!! I couldn't go (which is killing me inside) but my husband went with Alrik, he is in Jr Pee Wee - congrats that your son's team got to go - do you know if they won their game today?? Bulldogs won yesterday and will play again on Tuesday - this could be a once in a life time thing and it's HUGE! I am so glad your son got to go and i hope you did too. Would have been funny to have seen you there (had i gotten to go)
Good luck and please let me know how they do.
