One of my dearest friends just had a sweet baby boy and when asked what she wanted for babie's handmade gift, chose a painting. I've been having so much fun painting with the little cutie in mind. I was able to visit him in the NICU last week and am going up again tomorrow. I'm hoping to have the painting finished so that when he gets to come home it'll be hanging in his room. {There were complications during birth, but we all believe he's going to be able to come home soon; prayers are welcome if you are so inclined}
I don't want her to see the painting here and not in person, thus the peeks only, but the writing tells him he is loved, loved, loved.
This post is dedicated to the readers that have been missing a dose of color in all the stitching posts of late! xo

what a sweet gift. i'll be keeping that sweet baby and his family in my thoughts.

I have been missing your paintings, so yay for this great gift! I will pray for them, as this is very dear to my heart. When my son was born they held him for 10 days in the NICU It was one of the hardest things we've been through because we weren't sure when they'd release him and if he was ok. We made it through because of all the love and prayers that we received, and now we have a healthy happy 19 month old! Please let your friend know that her son is being held up in prayer and that our Lord has His hand on him.

Hi Pam
this painting looks fantastic! Can't wait to see the whole thing. My brother & sister in law are expecting their first baby any day now, and I would love to do a piece of art for her room (it's a girl!)
Can I ask you about the marks on your paintings? Do you draw over your painted background with pencil before you paint it in, or is that something else added after the fact?
thanks for sharing!

Hi Pam~! It looks wonderful from the sneak peeks! I'm loving the colors! I do love your stitching and of course you fun and beautiful paintings, but my favorite is your paper collages! When I first saw your collages a few years ago they inspired me to try collage and I love it, so I want to thank you for that!

Pam: Your post so reminded me of how I loved to add both graphite and ink details to my paintings! Thanks for reviving that memory, and good thoughts will be held for your friends and their newly expanded family.
