Stitching, stitching, stitching...is that all I blog about lately? Seems like it's all I'm doing over here, as the big-summer-journal-crazy-quilt is an obsession. A constant grabber of little moments that should add up to something fun when all is said and done (I'm hoping). My daughter's friends come over and comment on the progress as it is almost always spread out on either the living room or dining room floor. I promised one of her friends that it should be done by the time she returns home from college for Thanksgiving. That's right, I'm still thinking positively, it hasn't eaten me alive yet!
So yesterday, as we were heading off to the beach in the late afternoon, I remembered how Jenny had used the stamps I designed for Crescendoh as a pattern for embroidery, so I grabbed them and stamped them onto a scrap of tea towel, shoved them in my bag, and called shotgun for the ride.
You might notice that I am too unorganized to find the acrylic block to use for stamping, so had to make due with the top of the stamp pad. Good thing those stamps stick to any plastic! (You may also notice that I never clean my stamps, lazy lazy me.)
I'll be sure to point out where they get used on the quilt, when they do...more stitching on the blog ;) . I will become a more well-rounded craft-blogger soon!

that is a GREAT idea!! I am stealing it now....

These are wonderful. Such beautiful stitches. There seems to be something about summer and stitching. I wonder if there is a genetic thing from long ago. I don't clean my stamps either... glad I'm not the only one.
Thank you.

This is a great idea! I had thought of using some of my stamps for this purpose before, and then forgot about it, so I am happy to see you do this!

I forgot about the stamping technique I am so glad you reminded me I am too lazy and forgetful to get carbon paper! LOL! I can't wait to see where these beauties are going to be placed on your quilt.

Oh what a great idea. Every time I try with carbon paper it hardly shows through, even with black!!

This is a fabulous idea! I love the stamps! My stitching is truly terrible but I think that stitching over a template, so to speak, may well help me. First time here Pam, my name's Steph and I am a writer and editor. Love your work.

Are there really people out there who clean stamps? Honestly, I didn't even know they would come clean?! Funny, the things we learn as grown ups....
Well, I just love this idea of yours. I love embroidery but never have the patience to do a large piece, but these little babies of yours seem really high impact. This would also be a good approach to covering any annoying little moth holes....not that I ever get moth holes :) Just like I always clean my stamps :)
