A new sampler of sorts. Or really a cross between some of the samplers I make and the stitched bits, I suppose. It's close to 12"x13". A fun project. I think I'm close to finished on this one, but then again, not sure about that. It's a fine line between just enough and too much; I can see lots more stitching, or embellishing with buttons and beads as well. Do you have an opinion? More? Less? Embellish? Stitches only? I guess I'll have to make a few more and try them different ways to really figure out where I'm going on these pieces. But I'm having fun, so I'm sure to keep up the experimentation. That's one gift I wanted to give myself when I decided to take a year (or more?) off teaching: to follow my heart's desire and make anything I want, whenever I want, no matter where it leads to (even if a dead end). Time to experiment, play, stretch, with no thoughts (ok, no pressure filled thoughts) as to result. Open ended creative play. And that, makes for a beautiful day!

I just love looking at your stitched pieces!

You can see how lighthearted and free your thoughts and feelings are when you look at your needlework.
Free expression and fun- perfect combo!

I always have a hard time defining that line. I usually tend to cross it with a bit too much...can't leave a little white space alone. They are beautiful no matter which route you take them. Well done.

These would make beautiful pillow covers for on kitchen chairs, or a window seat, or in a quiet reading nook. Love the happy thoughts!! When are you going to resume teaching and offering courses? Who did the first zine classes???

Hi Pam, this is a lovely piece. Someone mentioned a free style embroidery class over at Flickr...can you steer me in the right direction? Do you teach one?

Pam I can't stop thinking about this beautiful piece and I was wondering if you were going to list it on your etsy shop? I would love to purchase it, if you are not keeping it for yourself or gifting it away! Is this to bold?

Your piece is so fun, lively and beautiful. Love the combination of the machine stitching with hand embroidery.

Pam, this piece is beautiful "as is" Adding buttons or anything else to it would be like adding glitter to the Mona Lisa... seriously, this way, we can enjoy the beauty and simplicity of the stitching... your work is always so inspiring!
