After seeing this video, I wanted to doodle and paint on throw-away paper myself. I was in luck, having just ordered new painting panels that were wrapped in brown paper packaging for safety. A whole bunch of ink doodling with a paintbrush and coloring in with paints and I'm still at it, having fun, just.because. Thanks to Alisa Burke for the inspiration and absolutely true message; it is all about the journey. You can own a part of what she created on the video, or other things from her prolific artist's hands here. Here are more shots of the fun I've been having in various stages. {Ed: I used different black calligraphy inks, and all different brands of acrylic paints, all different price ranges}

you certainly welcomed the weekend with lots of yummy colors. have a great one too.

Hey Pam, love your art. The "doodles" without color would make terrific wrapping paper. I would love to wrap a gift in that. Papaya, hint, hint!

I've been showing my almost seven year old daughter photos of your journals and she has been so inspired. Her eyes just got wide. Can't wait to show her these too.

How Pretty!!! If you don't mind sharing what kind of paint do you use that get such fantastic opaque color and soft black lines?

Thank you for the inspirational post. The video was too cute (with that little bit of sugar in the middle - lol). Gorgeous, gorgeous colors on your papers. Would different width black markers work as well as the calligrapher's ink? You've got me motivated this morning!!!!

I love your doodles and colors - now I have to go try some. Thanks for sharing the link to the video, just plain fun. (I remember seeing you on one of the HGTV craft shows making that cute house and sewing paper so it's fun to see how your work has evolved). So glad I found your site!

I wouldn't refer to your art as "doodling", I think it's much more than that.....I love your use of colors, always cheerful and inspiring.

Your doodles need to be fabric that I can buy by the yards and yards... just love it. My spring break is awful with my 12 year old in bed with Mono.

I am SO in love with this Pam! I have been feeling that I have wanted to try this myself lately and then I just came across this. Your work is lovely! It would be a great art print and I would frame the original if I were you!
