Making some gifts for friends and family that are joining us on Thanksgiving. Still love these boxes from Martha Stewart (I bought at Michael's over a year ago). Always wish Martha by Mail still existed. Sorry that it takes me so long to get to projects and by the time I do the products aren't in the store anymore.
Making some Christmas paper things using photos of mine and even a flyer from Restoration Hardware.
Making a special gift for one of my best friends, Kelly (that those who attend Silver Bella get to know), who's had a hard year. Such a hard year that she's behind in her blog reading, so no worries that the surprise will be revealed too soon. We used to live on the same street. We met while she was out pushing her babes Max and Sam in a stroller and walking her dogs Dave and Greg alongside. I knew I would love her and her funny take on the world right then. We used to be creative playmates and then she moved across the country. Still makes me sad to think of the loss, but I do get to see her when we meet yearly at Silver Bella. So I'm sending this pick me up. An advent calendar sort of gift box. 25 treats for her to open whenever she feels the need, or one a day until Christmas.
Of course, what I really need to be doing is grocery shopping and cleaning. I am so easily distracted to making things instead. So much more fun. But seriously, in an attempt at honesty, here is the office desk this morning, as is, untouched.
Need I say more? I think not. Hope your Thanksgiving Holiday prep is coming together with a little less feet dragging than mine!

What a wonderful, thoughtful gift that is for your friend. Here's a warm hug for you!
Luckily in Canada we get Thanksgiving over with in October so there's only christmas to think about right now.

I really enjoyed visiting with Kelly at vendor night, and LOVE the necklace I got from her. Please tell her hello from her new "pig in slop" friend when you have a chance. She will adore her advent present from you!

I can so relate to your post; nice to stay in touch with friends(I'm a military spouse), my
friends are all over the country from Maine to Alaska.
My house looks like a tornado hit it and my hubby will be home tomorrow(he's been out to sea-sea trials. They go out for a week, here and there to train. I have a lot of pick up and shove here and there to do. Love you idea ...don't we all know someone like that.
I may do that for my Mom; Thanks Pam for the
inspiration!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses Martha by Mail. Maybe we should start a petition or something :-)
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Thanks as always, for the inspiration.

Hi Pam,
I love the sweet advent bags for Kelly. I got to have breakfast with her on Sunday morning with Karla Nathan and she is such a sweet soul! She mentioned her "hard year" and that she doesn't read blogs. I warned her not to start as she will get sucked down that rabbit hole so fast never to return!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

PS I took your Holly Days class and really enjoyed it, but also LOVED when you let me look at your journals....pure inspiration there! Thank you so much for that...it was one of the highlights of Silver Bella!

What a special treat for your dear friend. I'm sure as much as you create your table deserves to be a mess. What are those acorns? is that food? they looked a lot like some ornaments I saw at Rogers Gardens. ...How did you make them? I miss Martha by Mail too... Happy Holidays to you.
