Actually, I've always loved felt, but I couldn't resist the play on words since I used it to make a garland for fall. So simple and so sweet to me. I was inspired by Elsie's adorable fall garland, and also two rolls of garland leaves made of felt (seen below). I don't remember where I got these mass produced felt leave garlands, did anyone else get these last year? Maybe it was Martha at Michael's? Or Pottery Barn? Possibly from a friend that works at Crate and Barrel? Wish I could remember. Anyway, back to the handcrafted leaf garland. Want to make a fall leaf garland of your own? If so, you'll need some felt. Heather Bailey has some beautiful colors in her new felt line that you can see here. I'll leaf the rest to you, ha ha. And if you don't want to make your own, I'm going to make some for my vendor table at Silver Bella, so you can get one there!
Here's the mass produces felt leaf garland I was mentioning above:

yum!
I am currently having a hot steamy affair with felt myself.. goes to show what can be done with die cut stuff.

Lovin' that autumnal display of garland. Guess I'll have to get snippin' and sewin' to make a border for my art journal. I'm doing seasonal art journals (inspired by Teresa McFayden and yourself) and keeping the art to that particular season.... lovin' the results. Good project to work on while homemade soup is cookin' or brownies are bakin'. Have a wonderful day.

I actually prefer yours to the diecut ones. :) Thanks for letting us know about Heather's felt. My mom and I are always so frustrated trying to find pretty colors in the chain stores. As always, thanks for the inspiration!

Mmmmmmmmm...........is there anything more fun? I buy all wool clothing at thrift stores and felt my own...I dye it myself too, sometimes. It's by far my favorite fabric. I love your garland...what a great idea.
Blessings,

Your garland is way better than the mass produced one but with a little hand stitching it might be cuter. I am still trying to work on a felt garland for Xmas with felted wool circles blanket stitched around the edges..my 41 year eyes aren't what they used to be!

So lovely...I have been making felt balls lately, but this gives me an idea to make felted acorns and then add leaves for another garland...feltastic:)

I love the colors you used for your garland. Not too dark, just right! And I feel the same way that you do about felt. It seems to be making a huge comeback!
