Any time I have a big project, it inevitably includes some time spent on the family room floor. I've always assumed it's because I need to get something done, but want to be involved with my family at the same time. I know that is the case, but as I was gathering this grouping to send off it made me wonder; will I still spread out all over the family room floor when my children are grown and gone? I fear I might. I think there is something about the large patch of space that I can't help but like too. I'm so good at making a mess and spreading projects eevvveerrrryyyywwhhereeeee.... just ask my family!

At least it is a pretty mess!!xoaim

Here's to messes! I've been known to spread out anywhere I can find room, including hotel room beds. Those king sized beds are great! Comfortable, too!

What a beautiful patch of lovliness!:) I find that instead of having "dust bunnies" . i have "paper bunnies" on my floor.

Dare we ask what is that spread out all over your floor? Sure looks like some familiar doodles? I love the kitchen counter -- maybe just an excuse not to cook. . .

I like to spread out on the floor, because nothing can roll off the table that way!

My craft nook IS in the family room just the other day MY dh said he really thinks it looks bad there because it's always a mess. I have a little skirt on the table to hide stuff underneath but I know I have a lot of stuff..I try to keep it cleaned up..but I like being in the family room. In our other house we had my craft room in the garage and I felt sort of isolated out there. It was nice when no one was home I could make a mess and not be bothered and just shut the door and walk out, plus it was huge so I could work on so many projects at the same time....I miss it sometimes but I do like being where my family is....him not so much.

I spread out on what used to be the dining room table which is open to the family room. I like to be in the "heart" of everything too. Now that we don't have a table that will be changing since we're on the lookout for an old teacher's desk so the table can move into the kitchen. I'm keeping the dining room space.
I love the grouping. It looks yummy.

Hi Pam! I just found your blog through Creature Comforts. Thanks for the sweet embrodery PDF. This will come in handy this weekend as the Chicago area is in a snow storm advisory ;) Thanks again! Have a delightful weekend.

Hah! I do the same thing, starting out in the art nest, slowly spreading over to the huge kitchen island, then the living room floor, and eventually bits end up in the office where I blog.....[sigh] obviously, I need a bigger art nest?

I am exactly the same way. I have a space in the finished basement, but it's mainly the storage space for all of my supplies. I like working in the kitchen and family room...where the action is and the natural light. My family is used to me by now. Sometimes, my husband will complain but mostly he appreciates my art and looks the other way!
