I finally have some news about the garlands...I will be teaching the coffee filter garland two times this upcoming spring. The first class will be at Kim Caldwell's La Petite Maison Blanc and the 2nd will be a night-time demo at Teesha's ArtFiberfest. I'm excited about both weekends, and have been in my art room day after day after day gathering de-stashing supplies for my vendor table at each event. I plan to make some art to sell as well. Spring has always been my favorite season, looking forward to it especially this year.
For those that can't make the classes and have been patiently waiting, bear with me. I'm going to do a little step by step photo tutorial this weekend.
And maybe, just maybe, I might be demoing these on a TV craft segment...I'll let you know...
and when I haven't been in my art room, I've been breaking in my new chauffeur...
ha ha ha. We were just being silly after leaving a friend's house on the day she got her permit. She's actually quite a good little driver. I think it's due to her cautious, rule following personality, but when she went on her first driving ride with an instructor and he asked her why it seemed like she'd been driving for a long time, she told him that she learned on the "Autopia" ride at Disneyland. I think she meant it too! Oh to be sixteen...

Now who'da thunk that coffee filters could look almost like lace. I laughed out loud at the driving pictures.

Good Morning Pam!!
Just thought you might like to know that there will be at least one of us who will attempt(even if it's near impossible) to wait until this weekend!! :) As much as I would love to go to either or both events this spring it just isn't happenin :( It's a wee bit of a trip!!
Please stop by if you have a minute. I could use any bit of advice on a dress maker form I'm aging :)

Hurray for the tutorial ! You must have been reading my mind - and those of others, because I was just thinking the other day how lovely it would be if you brought a few filters to Artfest and did a tutorial. Maybe just bring a sample ? A girl can hope :) And i just purchased my first 3 copic markers today for the journaling class. April couldn't come any sooner !
anxiously waiting to meet you. . . .

Ooh, since I can't get to classes, I'm so looking forward to the online tutorial!
Good luck with that new driver! Mine has had her license for 4 mos now and though I may have a new gray hair or two, she loves that bit of indepence. No accidents so far!

My daughter got her permit during Christmas break. We've driven quite a bit but I'm still overcoming my fears everytime I ride with her - and she's a great driver! It's the other loonies out there that scare me. It's definitely making me more aware of how I drive and who might be behind the wheel of that car I just cut off in traffic.

Cute photos! Don't freak out when she comes home and says, "Guess who I ran into today!"

Thank you for the giggling fit. The picture was good but the Autotopia comment was what sent me over. :)

Love the pictures, Pam! I have a daughter turning 21 this March who still does not drive, and although had taken a vow to NEVER drive, may be weakening...she took the train to college for two years, and still loves it, but the lure of the open road is calling...

Pam,
The garland is beautiful. Just wondering if you have found your "invisible" brake peddle on the passenger's side yet?? She looks just like you. Good luck with the driving!

WooHoo for the coming tutorial. :) I found the perfect curtains to go with the garland.

LOL, my DD's reason for her own awesome driving skills was that she had driven 'The Barbie Car' (one of those battery powered mini-jeeps) when she was in preschool/kindergarten :) We still laugh about that, and she's still driving pretty well - go Barbie Car!!
Love your garland!

Hi Pam, I have come back to your garland posts countless times since you posted them. I can't get them out of my head. They're so gorgeous.
I love garlands in general but this has to be one of the coolest ones I've ever seen!
